Standing ovation for Gilberta Gonzalez, representing United Adult Students, in Sacramento

Ms. Gilberta Gonzalez of Los Angeles, received a standing ovation after speaking earlier today on behalf of the United Adult Students at the CCAE Conference in Sacramento.  She presented the 10,000+ petition signatures that adult students have collected in the past two weeks that rejects Governor Brown's plan to move Adult Education to the Community College system.  The petition also demands that a "Dedicated Funding Stream" be established by lawmakers in Sacramento to ensure Adult Education funding is actually used for adults and not re-directed to other purposes under the guise of further 'budget cuts'.  Ms. Gonzalez also met with California lawmakers during her time in Sacramento this week.
