I support Assembly Bill 1846 introduced by Assemblywoman Patty López (D-San Fernando) ‒ legislation that will return adult education funding in California to pre-recession levels. Under AB 1846 an additional $250 million, appropriated from the state’s general fund, would be distributed to 70 regional adult education consortiums with the goal of expanding and/or restoring services and operations that are currently in high demand. As Assemblywoman López has said, “Our state is home to one of the largest immigrant populations in the country and adult education is a key resource for these communities." Adult Education is a human right! It's time to restore our Adult and Career Education programs across California.
